Transverse section of holotype of Labechia carbonaria. The thick pillars are shown in transverse section as lighter coloured dots against a dark background of sparite cement in the middle of the sample, and become more obliquely sectioned towards its edges, the consequence of sectioning transversely through a dome-shaped structure.
